3 quarters of this year has sped by with much turbulence and furious activities.
Have hardly any time to update Boo & my blog.
Today, I'm v. happy that Boo has got 5/5 for her 2nd spelling test for the term.
1.) moP (oops! she spelt with capital P instead of small p. At home, when I revise with Boo, she often forget how to spell mop.)
2.) cat
3.) hat
4.) axe
5.) dog
This year I turned up early to preview & take pics of those I deem interesting. (I missed doing so the last year... & 2007 year, my camera battery is flat as didn't charge properly...)
Wow, this year the judges will have a hard time to decide the top 3 winners.
I guessed as much that the Pig, tortoise & white elephant has high chances to top the rest.
It will be difficult for our fanciful peacock to contend with such strong competition.
Actually, we had wanted to do a Chinese dance kind of lion which we can have fun decorating it. But abet too tough.
Also, thought of doing a marine sea animals kind of aquarium ie. 3 dimensional...
But finally, settled to do a simpler & less ambitious lantern.
After being inspired by Boo's school's craft of a peacock.
I outline the shape of peacock for Boo to fill in her own choice of colors...
Take a look at this year's entries...
#1.) Pig (ears are made from children's medicine spoon, curly wurly tail from paopaocha's straw, pork knuckles fm top of plastic drinks top, netting used to decorate pig's body...) This is K1, YaoWen & papa's entry.
#2.) White whimsy female elephant of K1, Gladys & mummy.
#3.) Green tortoise made from plastic takeway container. This is Pre-nursery YaoWei & Papa's handiwork.
Boo's fanciful Peacock got a consolation medal. Ours was called #5 to top 3 prizes...
Think K2 WeiHan's white rabbit came in #4.
K1 Justin's cow with black & white patches came in with consolation.
K1' Chloe Ng's fish (unsure what kind of material is made from) came in with consolation.
So, majority of the prizes belong to K1 class...
